The Fall SemesterPractices (Posted Sept. 22/09)
As of this Fall term, we practice 3 times each week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Our Tuesday practices (at UTM) begin at 8:30 pm, with the first hour for beginners. Wednesdays are at the Youshukan Dojo, and are 7-9 pm for Juniors only. Friday keiko is at UTM, and is from 7-10 pm. with beginners practice in the first hour. Check out the Practice Schedule page for all the details. A gentle reminder to all that that term fees are due if you've not yet paid them.
The Fall Semester Begins September 8th! (Posted Sept. 3/09)
Its that time again - We are starting our Fall semester. Practices begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8th at 7:00 PM sharp at the UTM dance studio. Check out the Practice Schedule page for all the details - we have an updated practice schedule this term. Please note that term fees are due.
New Members Welcome in September (Posted Sept. 3/09)
We are welcoming beginners who are interested in trying kendo during the month of September. Practices on Tuesdays and Fridays will have time for the beginners (both at UTM). Ceck out the Schedule page for times and locations, and the Membership page for important information required when you come on out to practice. Also note that we may be required to close new member registration early due to space and safety contraints.
Special Keiko for Kimura-Sensei (Posted July 20)
In honour of Kimura Sensei's 60th Birthday, we are having a Special Keiko. We invite all members, past and present, to come out and celebrate this grand occasion with us. Whether you are active or not, a member of another club or not. It doesn't matter if you are injured or whatever, come out and join us. Maybe do a little of the warm-up or whatever you can.
This is such a small way of saying "Thank-you". For all of the knowledge, skills and time he has given to us and asked nothing in return; Except that we all try our best and pushes ourselves further and further each time.
After Keiko everyone, including families are invited to dinner at Kimura Sensei's house, 508 Vanessa Crescent, Mississauga. The dinner is being catered, so please RSVP by July 22/09. The cost is $25 for adults and $15 for children under 15. Please come and join in some superb food after good work out.

Godo-Keiko with Team Canada (Posted May 25th)
We are very happy to announce that we are having a Godo-Keiko (Good Will Practice) with members of Team Canada as they get ready for the upcoming World Championships in Sau Paulo, Brazil. (As well as bein part of our National Month of Kendo) We welcome Team Canada to our dojo on June 5th, starting at 8:30pm. Please note that beginners practice is still at 7:15pm.
June is National Kendo Month (Posted May 25th)
The Canadian Kendo Federation has named June as Natinoal Kendo Month. Check out the website for details about kendo events celebrating our favorite past-time!
The 2009 JCCC Junior Tournament (Posted May 25th)
Sunday, May 24th saw the 2009 edition of the JCCC Junior Tournament. We had a great turnout and showing by all our members who played. Great Job to all! Check out the Tournament review by David Hyashida here.
The Summer (posted March 25th)
The Summer term begins in May with our first Friday practice...May 1st. Please note that we are not accepting new beginners over the summer term - the next beginner registration will be in the fall term. Please check back soon for updates.
Friday Practices in April (Posted March 25th)
Due to Finals at UTM, we will not be having keiko on Friday evenings during April. Wednesday practices are still on at the Youshukan Dojo.OKF Insurance Waivers (Posted March 25th)
